- language - clear and direct

- tone of voice – firm and strong

- eyes/facial expression - send same message as words spoken, look at person and remain serious

- body posture - upright and confident.

If pressuring continues explain the action you would take to remove yourself from the situation, eg “Leave the scene quickly and make other arrangements to get home.”
